Leo™ – Corporate Social Responsibility

leo/NFA Cup
Forging a relationship with the Namibia Football Association in 2009 through a 3 year sponsorship of the leo/NFA Cup has placed leo™ in a prominent position in one of Namibia’s favourite sports.  Although the money spent is essentially a sponsorship, the CSI spin offs allow developing teams the opportunity to partake against well placed, already developed teams.  The 2011 Total prize purse was again just over N$1 000 000.

This year the leo/NFA cup final was held in Walvis Bay at the Kuisebmund Soccer Stadium on Saturday the 28th of May.

Civics FC from windhoek faced off with Eleven Arrows FC from Swakopmund for the Grand Prize of N$ 600 000.
Eleven Arrows FC were victorious and won the Cup by beating Civics FC 2-0

1st Prize:  N$ 600 000 to Eleven Arrows FC.
2nd Prize: N$ 250 000 to Civics FC

N$ 50 000 to Orlando Pirates FC
N$ 50 000 to Black Africa FC

N$ 25 000 to Veno Namolo of Eleven Arrows FC, Goal scorer of the season
N$ 25 000 to Heinrich Isaacs from Civics FC as the player of the tournament.

One-One-Six Childline ‘Report Child Abuse” Number
leo™ is pleased to be in partnership with Lifeline/Childline and various other local and international role players, on the “one-one-six” report child abuse project.  Launched on the “Day of the African Child” the project aims at providing a platform, for children and adults, to report and prevent child abuse.    The 116 toll free number will be accessible through all Namibian fixed and mobile networks and will be manned by professionally training counsellors of Lifeline/Childline.  It is Lifeline’s experience that callers will call more than once, before the caller has the courage to talk to a councillor.
